We know we don’t have to remind you of the whirlwind that was 2020 and 2021. The past two years for Resolute have been filled with changes, adaptability and growth. With the new year upon us, we’re looking forward to tackling (what we predict will be) the latest marketing trends for 2022.
Voice Search and SEO
Hey Alexa! What’s the top marketing trend of 2022? Siri and Alexa will always be there to help answer your questions. With the evolution of voice search, people are changing the way they’re using search engines. According to PwC, 61% of people aged 25–64 who already use a voice device intend to use it more in the future.
How do you optimize for voice search? Incorporate question queries and more conversational long-tail keywords into your content (see below re: conversational marketing). When users voice their searches on Google, they’re most likely to first find your business on Google My Business. Double check your listing to ensure your images, address, business information and content is up to date.
Conversational Marketing
These days, customers can talk with sales reps or bots through live chat, texts, video chat and instant messages. This type of communication can lead to a shorter sales cycle as customers move through your marketing funnel.
So long to the days of a strict “no play all business” marketing strategy. Your customers are savvy – they know if you’re relying on a script and they crave personalization. To leverage this trend, use segmentation to personalize your communications to help customers with their specific needs.
Advocacy
Advocacy comes in many forms from both customers and employees. Remember this golden rule –the happier your employees, the happier your customers! A simple way to keep employees engaged is to make sure they understand and are informed about your brand mission and values. Have them share your business’ social media posts and include why they love your company.
One thing about advocacy that hasn’t changed is the importance of building relationships to drive loyalty. Loyal customers also help to increase the reputation and awareness of your brand as they’ll talk about your company and products with their friends and family. Happy customers make great (and free!) brand ambassadors and influencers. Speaking of influencers, 2022 is the perfect year to beginning planning for influencer marketing.
Video, video and more video
Did we mention video? From TikTok to YouTube ads, video can take on many forms. Research by Cisco found that in 2022, video will account for 82% of all online traffic. We’ve seen short-form videos on TikTok and Instagram Reels gain popularity and it’s not slowing down. It’s important now more than ever to develop a video marketing strategy.
Neither you nor I have a crystal ball, but we predict these to be the top 2022 marketing trends. Knowing about these up-and-coming trends is only a piece of the puzzle – you also need to learn how to effectively integrate them into your marketing strategy.
